My 4th Carissa Broadbent read, and my least favourite so far. Her writing was as excellent as usual, but something about the actual story didn’t really click for me. I didn’t feel strongly about either of the main characters, and I felt that the ‘gimmicks’ thrown in (ie. the blindfold, the horns) weren’t satisfactorily explored.
I wouldn’t re-read this but I would still recommend it to anyone who enjoys the genre, as it wasn’t a bad story, just left me a bit cold.

Loved the first 20% for the world and magic building. Middle 60% was a bit slow for me. End 20% was amazing romance, gasping betrayals, kicking my feet achievements.
I LOVED Atrius and the story of the Arachessen. It just didn’t make me want to KEEP reading! Overall enjoyed and love this whole series. Excited for the next book to release.

It's so rare when I can say that a spin-off story is better than the main series - and please note! I do not say this lightly! The Crowns of Nyaxia series is one of my favourite. It is burned into my very soul...yet this story tops that. Absolute perfection.
I can't wait to see how these characters tie into the main Nyaxia storyline!
