A Gypsy in Auschwitz by Otto Rosenberg audiobook narrated by Richard Trinder published by Monoray. Listened to using to using Listening Books a charity providing audiobooks for people who finding reading physical books more difficult via Libby. I am not rating this title given it is a biography of someone held at Auschwitz.
Otto is a young Sinti boy living with his family in Berlin, but then the Nazis start to round up all the Roma and Sinti and putting them in the camps along with all the other undesirables. It is his story of how he survived the camps including Auschwitz, it tells of violence and near-death illness and luck. The luck to survive and come though and still face prejudices after the war finished.
I chose to listen to this title because most stories to do with the Holocaust are about Jewish families, but they were just one group of many people who were persecuted by the Nazis.
