I have started and stopped and restarted this tiny book four times in the last 3 years. I think, oh this is a super quick read, and then end up putting it down 30 pages in. It’s not the book, it’s me. It’s the fact I forget how dense and contemplative these subjects can be.
4 short essays are included about A.I. and how it relates to the Frankenstein story. How we approach the technology now and in the future is important. And the legacy of Frankenstein is to serve as a reminder that we should always be aware of the implications of the technology we are creating.
Overall, I didn’t find any arguments in this book that I haven’t heard before, hence the 3 stars. However, I did enjoy the individual contributions and thoughts on A.I.
If you are interested in how we should approach A.I. as a society this is a great, accessible little read to pick up.
