It appears it was all a mistake! The murdered daughter has emerged six years later. Blood and DNA confirms it. Then she disappears again when her father is released from prison. Washington Poe and Tilly are among my favorite currently crime solving duo. This book included a surprising and interesting mystery.

This was another thrilling Washington Poe adventure. I was kept guessing the whole time - surely, Elizabeth Keaton can’t be alive? But how could the imposter pass a blood test that says otherwise?
As always, I love the characters of Poe and his sidekick, the intelligent and quirky Matilda Bradshaw. They are the perfect team, and although their cases are gripping, I can always take comfort that things will turn out just fine with the two of them working together.

4.5… I really like all of the main characters and will be continuing with this series on audio. That said - these do have some very gruesome parts, so are definitely not for everyone.
