This was a very entertaining book, I enjoyed every moment. The way this author can articulate grief is amazing to me. Highly recommend

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Every thing about Emery and Oliver's story was so heartfelt. I experienced happiness, sadness, and anger with this book.
With Oliver after losing someone who literally is your other half, the pain that he endured and the thoughts are so common for us in real life. Seeing him slowly being brought back to life after such a tragedy was a beautiful thing.
Emery was just a beautiful person, even when she was struggling she kept on trying her best. She believed that things were only temporary and that there was a light at the end of the tunnel.

She was Oliver's light and there story was one that i will never forget.

P.S: I freaking loved Reese and if it aint obvious, Emery and Sammie's parents deserve a special place in Hell.

Who hurt you?

That phrase, who hurt you and why was it.... it was Brittainy Cherry. She hurt me.
I am still not sure how I managed to read this given I was crying the entire time.
This is such a beautifully written story. I didn't know my heart could break into so many pieces. I didn't know I could cry so much over a book. This story is perfection and #1 on my 2022 list.

I mostly listened to the audiobook for this and the narrators were amazing.

This book was emotional and had a great storyline. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would if we’re being honest.

The way Emery’s parents spoke to her and her sister was out of pocket. I was in shock when they blamed Sam for getting r**ped. It was disgusting and her parents deserve everything bad to happen to them. I loved Emery’s and Sam’s relationship. Emery truly wanted to help Sam and helped her the best way that she could. And even though Sam messed up, it was really nice of Emery to see that Sam just needed validation from her parents and needed help coping with her trauma and didn’t hold her wrongdoings against her.

This book was truly heartwarming and I loved every second of it.

3 duo stars

For a book that I would not particularly describe as heartwrenching, this one has a very sad start. You begin the story with the death of the hero's, Oliver's, twin. Alex dies and Oliver goes into a depressive spiral. Enter Emery.

Emery is raising her daughter on her own, struggles financially and has to contend with a myriad of family issues. Yet she finds it in her to show kindness to Oliver, when he needs it. From then on they begin their friendship and eventual relationship.

This book feels...a bit contemplative I guess. It is a love story, don't get me wrong, but I would say after reading it, the individual journeys of each character stay more with you.

It did feel a bit fast-paced in terms of development, hence the 3 stars. But I still recommend it.
