The Kindling anthologies are full of delightful treasures. An eclectic mix of fiction, non-fiction and poetry, they feature some of the best up and coming writers. It’s a great platform.

In this, the third volume, I’ve particularly enjoyed Linda Godfrey’s ‘Dust And Honey’ (it feels idyllic and familiar, yet strange in its deceptively bleak and dusty setting), and Kyla Bagnall’s ‘Asking After The Mentally Unwell’ (so honest and raw). I can even see Anthony Spangler’s ‘Evergreen’ becoming a book in its own right. I must say, the fiction in this edition of Kindling is very strong - writers to keep an eye on include the likes of Jess Southwell and Kayla Dean. But really, any writer you find in these pages has plenty of talent.

The Kindling anthologies are a wonderful platform for both writer and reader, with plentiful pages ripe for opportunity and discovery.

Still love this collection. Particularly the essay on writers and motherhood - really great!
