The Art of War

Sun Tzu

An apt translation of some of the important excerpts from The ancient book. I don't think I can say anything new that has not already be said about it. This translation, however, does get the message and teachings through in a succinct manner. A fine and illuminating read indeed

A classic and lots of great nuggets.

From a military strategy standpoint, The Art of War is in a class of its own (especially for its time). From a readability standpoint it gets repetitive and one can glean the insights Sun Tzu offers in the first 10 or so pages when the rest mainly serves to drive the point home. For those unlikely to lead any land wars the wisdom here is still interesting and useful when applied other ways.

It is what it is

"The greatest victory is that which requires no battle"

I seen a lot of people relate this book to running a business - but that analogy is floored. It is however insightful from a historical point of view, and interesting to see that some of these strategies and tactics are still used in modern warfare.

Me sorprendió esta lectura, un clásico de la literatura universal que bien te puede ayudar a ganar una guerra como para situaciones de la vida diaria.

So interesting how most of the knowledge Sun Tzu divulged has entered common consciousness implicitly through fictional depictions of conflict
