I actually listened to the new recording made by the infamous GOT Littlefinger, Aidan Gillen. Pure wow. Precise, succinct, crafty.
I know it’s a very basic book but oomf’s father gifted it to me and so I was sort of compelled to read it. I think a lot of the ideas are still pertinent and can be applied to war (or other domains) today. One of my favorite quotes from the book was “Simulated disorder postulates perfect discipline, simulated fear postulates courage, simulated weakness postulates strength”

Já tinha ouvido diversas referências ao livro de Sun Tzu e como o conhecimento neste era aplicado noutros campos. No entanto, foi só lê-lo agora para entender melhor a abordagem feita acerca da estratégia e de métodos de sucesso os quais, utilizando uma linguagem sinônima, ainda sustentam bases para o nosso quotidiano. Apesar da leitura curta e objetiva, gostei bastante do tema e dos ensinamentos.

Military stratagems from Ancient China. I'm sure you can convert them to metaphors and find ways of applying them to your life, but for me it was a fairly bland read. Though this work could also be approached as a way of glimpsing into the military history of the dynasties, without some background of Ancient Chinese culture a lot of the references will be missed. Additionally, by this point much of the militaristic wisdom has been disseminated through modern culture, so there was little that couldn't be seen as common sense.
