 This book just flew by.

The Faceless Ones by Derek Landy is the third book in the Skulduggery Pleasant series following our protagonist Valkyrie Cain as she once again teams up with Skulduggery to keep the Faceless Ones from returning to Ireland. This was, once again, a very quick read with a whirlwind plot. I felt like it moved faster than the previous books in this series as there was a lot less world-building this time around. I also didn’t realize that so much time (2 years) has passed since the first book occurred. I think this book was a tad more engaging than the second one, but it wasn’t super memorable, purely because things happen so quickly. This book ended on a bit of a cliff hanger, so I’m interested to see how that is resolved in the next story.

Gah this series is brilliant. So glad I started it. I MUST READ THE NEXT ONE. Cliff hanger much?

Definitely the best of the first there but still feels very high schooler wanting to be edgy

My favourite in the series so far! Still suffering a little bit from too many villains with very similar goofy names, but the mystery was much more compelling and the more you know the characters the more enjoyable the series becomes. Love Fletcher, hope he becomes a consistent character!

This is the third book in the Skulduggery Pleasant series, and they just keep getting better and better as the series continues. I was on the edge of my seat the whole book, and it ends with a cliffhanger so I cannot wait to read the next book. This had a lot more violence than the first two books, and some of it is graphic. I was wincing a lot during the action scenes. I also laughed aloud, and got teary eyed. This book took me on a roller coaster ride of emotions and I loved every moment of it. This series is classified as a children's series, but I think it's more young adult. Due to the violence, the adult humor, and there were a few cuss words. Mainly "damn" and "hell." I love all the characters (even the bad guys), and there were some new additions in this book and they just added to the story. If you haven't read the first two books go and read them, and you will be hooked on this series like I am.
