The twist in this was out of the blue, I wish the villains name wasn’t so shit. This will become a theme, don’t worry.

3.5 Stars - the series just gets better and better

It’s fun, entertaining and fast paced, it’s still YA, but it’s fun YA and it’s the perfect comfort break between longer novels.

The Faceless Ones represents the end of what could, by itself be a incredibly strong three book arc. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that we got more books after this one but the first trilogy are definitely the most consistently strong. It's here that we reach the conclusion of the driving antagonistic goal of the early series, the returning of the Faceless Ones, and end with a gut punch of an emotional ending with Skulduggery dragged into hell. We're introduced to series staples like Kenspeckle Grouse, and Fletcher Renn, and see what might be considered the inevitable conflict between the magical and mortal worlds in the form of Batu. The Faceless Ones is the thrilling conclusion of the first arc of the Skulduggery Pleasant first series and a very good book.

Twists and turns galore! The darkly humorous plot thickens, and the heroes can’t seem to win them all. It’s interesting to see Skulduggery’s past emerge in bits and pieces, while our dear Val struggles to unravel her own identity. And be warned, cliff hangers are incoming!

These books never disappoint. Great plot, great characters, great dialoguez and the plot is thickening each time!

Even though Skulduggery Pleasant has been kicked out of the Sanctuary, he can't trust his replacement to do the job right when teleporters are being targeted and murdered. Skulduggery and his fourteen-year-old trainee, Valkyrie, take the case unofficially. The stakes are huge. Someone is trying to bring back The Faceless Ones, whose return will be disastrous for humans and magical folk alike. With their trademark sense of humor and penchant for running into dangerous situations head first, the duo join old friends and make unusual alliances to prevent the end of the world.
