Another great addition to the Skulduggery Pleasant series!
It is super fast paced though, sometimes I wish they would slow down and let Val recover. Plus, then there is more time for witty exchanges.

There are some major things that look like they will be coming up and unfolding, which I am excited for. Looking forward to reading the next one, next month.

This was the first book in the series that I truly loved.

The first two books got 4 stars - this was becuase I found them a little slow and also thought that in some parts, they were very like "x did this and then x did that and then that and this" - I wanted more emotion, more feeling.

Perhaps the target age range caused that, I'm not sure- but this book was definitely much better written in my opinion. The characters are a lot more established now, and this makes the stories a lot easier to read.

Overall, I'm really enjoying the series and will definitely continue.

Book 90 of 2024: The Faceless Ones - Derek Landy

Skulduggery Pleasant and his young sidekick Valkyrie Cain return to stop the bad guys bringing around the end of the world - just another week for the detective duo - but will they succeed against the Faceless Ones?

Review:
⭐️ 4/5

Another enjoyable instalment in the Skulduggery series. This one has a bit more mystery and I personally didn’t work out who Batu was until it was revealed! The action at the end of the book is really well paced and I need to start the next one in the series after that cliffhanger ending!
