A cozy mystery with fun quirky characters that starts with a family ice cream shop. Win Crewse is back in Ohio after a bit of time in New York and ready to re-open her grandparents’ ice cream parlor, after a bad reopening day she decided to get some snow to make her grandma snow ice cream only to trip over a dead body. Now the mystery is on This was a fun read full of yummy treats and tasty

Kind of cute book, just not for me. I couldn’t find the main character lovable or super likable then Maisie I just really couldn’t stand. Those characters especially read as teenagers as opposed to young adults. Although I can see how someone would appreciate how light hearted it is. As an Ohioan, I appreciated the nods to Cleveland and Ohio!

This one was really not for me. Didn't like the narrator, couldn't pay attention, and I could not tell you who the actual murderer was.

I can’t point out any one thing that made this book so annoying, but it was indeed annoying. I love mysteries. I love people becoming accidental or reluctant detectives. I love small town settings. But I just…couldn’t love this book. The characters felt immature and too stupid to function. The dialogue was stilted and forced. The plot was fine but the pacing just felt off.

Ehhh...

I started this review at 3 stars because although it wasn't for me I could understand other people liking it .. but then I thought about it and I just wasn't a fan.

I *did* keep with it and finish the book though, so I did not rate it one star due to being able to finish.

Average writing, average 'who dun it' ... but what stands out the most is the main character. She is 30 years old but has the mind of a 13 year old. It bothered me more than it should but it just wasn't realistic and it annoyed me.

Overall - I would never recommend this book to anyone.

Words not your thing? Odd you are on goodreads then. No judgement, check out my picture book on this new hip site called 'Instagram'.
