Ich bin ganz ehrlich: dieses E-Book hat mir allein aus dem Grund gefallen, da es Zusatzmaterial zu Charakteren bereithält, die ich sehr liebe. Amy Ewings Trilogie "Das Juwel" ist eine innovative und spannende Reihe mit Figuren, die vielschichtig sind und schnell zu Lieblingscharakteren werden. In diesem E-Book bekommen wir Einblicke hinter die Kulissen des pompösen Hauses am See und erfahren, wie der Sohn der Herzogin Garnet zu der Rolle kam, die er in der eigentlichen Reihe eingenommen hat. Mit dabei: Annabelle, Lucien, Carnelian und allerlei weitere Figuren, die wir kennen und lieben oder hassen. Interessant fand ich vor allem die Außensicht auf Violet unsere vorige Protagonistin. 
Meine Bewertung rührt daher, dass die Geschichte hier zwar in die Welt zurückkehren lässt und Fragen klärt, jedoch sonst nichts Neues bietet. Keine neuen Abgründe oder fesselnden Plot Twists. Ich wage zu behaupten, Garnet nicht besser zu kennen als zuvor, was doch recht schade ist. Man muss dieses E-Book dementsprechend nicht gelesen haben. Wer eine gute Reihe der Autorin kennenlernen möchte, sollte zur Trilogie an sich greifen. Die bietet alles, was eine spannende Reihe mit dystopischen Elementen benötigt und punktet zusätzlich mit prunkvoller und zugleich schrecklicher Atmosphäre. (Das Einzige, was ich nicht so mochte, war die Lovestory, aber das ist eine andere Geschichte, die hier nicht weiter vertieft werden soll)

Usually I like to know the backstory of characters from a book series but this book was very disappointing. No new facts or anything we didn’t know before I read the book series. You don’t need to read this book to understand the story

I always enjoy reading the perspective of the story from a different character. Garnet's Story is a great addition to the series. It was interesting to learn more about his personality and character.

Really good for anyone that wants to read the second book but read the first book ages ago.
It was nice to see Garnet's side of things.

The last novella out for the series.

It was a good read. Enjoyed it a lot more than "Sil's Story".
Always nice to see a bit of background in some of the characters. Hoping Garnet features a bit of a bigger role in the final book "The Black Key".
