Basically, it's not something I've seen in Dystopian books. But the first thing I'd describe this would be an Erotic romance, it hair has a dystopian setting. Does that make sense? Probably not. But either way I can see why people aren't fans. I know many readers who don't like sharing or when a male protagonist goes off with another woman src, and that does happen here. I don't mind that so it wasn't an issue, and while the 'whorehouse' as they called it had me a little weary, by the end of the book I was invested in everyone!
There's some MFM stuff, nothing too extreme, there no anal or anything, there's stuff about control etc, but next to all that was a great story about a man who wants to avenge some nasty shit that went down, and a girl running from a sadistic man contracted to wed her. She finds love and friendship and family with his group of outlaws and struggles with hiding her identity as the sister of the guy in the government he thinks is responsible for their deaths.
It's not for everyone, but I loved it and already want to read the next two. Ashamed of myself for letting bad reviews (by some people who only got a short way in) sway my decision to read this when it came out, especially when I was so eager and probably would have still loved it then.
On a side note, while the sex was hot, they probably could have been a touch less and it wouldn't have effected the story, but I ain't complaining.

♥ Quick Thoughts and Rating: 4.5 stars! I've been in a book funk for more than a month now, and I think Claimed will be solely responsible for shoving me out of it. You can always count on Elle Kennedy's books to get you a lot hot and more-than-a-little bothered, and this novel was no exception to that rule.
Fast-paced, smoking hot, and laced with a poisonous cocktail of angst and sexual tension strong enough to put you under, there's no possible way you could go wrong with this first installment of her Outlaws series.
♥ Review: I'm going to be relatively blunt in this review, so fair warning...
I usually tend to read YA which also usually tends to have limited sexual content simply for the fact that I'm pretty picky about my written sexytimes. I have a few authors that I trust when I'm in the mood for that type of book, and Elle Kennedy definitely makes that very short list. And there's a damn good reason for it, she writes damn good sexual tension and chemistry, as well as all the goodness that leads up to sex, and then good sex on top of that. It just something that I've come to expect when I'm taking on one of her books, and this book was no different. The chemistry between Connor and Hudson, as well as anyone else they allowed to participate (GULP!) was beyond. . .just beyond, okay? I'll leave it at that and save all the graphic details for the book, but UNG! and all those other unintelligible sounds that wouldn't make a lick of sense in this review.
Another thing you can expect from Elle Kennedy is damn good characterizations and this book didn't disappoint in that department either. All of the outlaws, especially Connor's crew, were so fleshed out and stood apart from the page so vividly, it was effortless to image their voices or see their personalities shining through so easily. I can't wait to get to learn more about each of them as Kennedy explores their individual stories. I think they all bring a certain dynamic to the table, and each character has me downright giddy to learn more about them, especially Rylan, Pike, Kade, and Xander (which is basically everyone, huh?)!
I will say that as far as plot and world-building go, there could have been more, obviously, but now there's also more room for her to fill in on future installments. There was enough foundation there to carry my interest and keep me curious about what's more to come. However, if I'm being perfectly honest, I'd say these books are more about the smut, and I'm pretty freaking content with how she's managed to fill the pages. Carry on, Ms. Kennedy.
Another note worth quickly adding is that although this is only the first book in a series, it definitely can be read as a stand-alone. I was satisfied with how this novel wrapped up, though I'm definitely excited to find out what's to come in the sequel.
♥ Teaser Quote: There are so many naughty things I want to quote here, but I'll save those for you to devour in your own private time.
She watched him the entire time, her gaze reserved for him and him alone, and that was more thrilling than anything else they'd done tonight. Rylan was right—they were hot together. They burned so bright hat the rest of the world faded away, and all he could see were her big gray eyes and the raw hunger that made him go up in flames every time she looked at him. That kind of fire could be dangerous. Addictive.
But right now, as he tugged her up and kissed the taste of him off her lips, he was alarmingly happy to let himself burn.
– quote taken from the paperpack copy of Claimed, pg. 201
♥ Rec It? Hell yes I am! With a full cast of memorable characters and hot sexytimes that had me in search of a fan to sit near, I read this all within a few short hours and I'm ready to dive into the next installment just as soon as I can wrap this review draft up. If you're in the mood for something deliciously dirty and quick to read, definitely give this one a go!
♥ A very special thanks to Signet and Penguin rep, Jess, for providing me with a copy of this title.
First sentence: “I need to get drunk and laid-not necessarily in that order,” Rylan announced as the group crossed the threshold into the bar.
As soon as I found out that Elle Kennedy had a new book releasing I was like, “I have to have it.” And that was before the cover and synopsis were released. Those two things only added to my excitement because of…reasons. Okay, fine. That cover is yumalicious. *fans self*
Let’s go straight to the review before I start drooling over the cover.
THE SEXY SCENES WILL MAKE YOU BLUSH
We all know Elle can write the hell out of a sexy time scene. The sexy scenes in the Off Campus series are steamy. In the Killer Instincts, they’re smokin’ hot. And in CLAIMED? On fire. We’re talking explosive. They’re very, very hot. They will make you blush. Like, whoa. Prepare to blush a lot while reading CLAIMED because there are A LOT of sexy scenes. Better yet, have a fan handy too.
STRONG HEROES & HEROINES
Now, now there’s more to CLAIMED than just sexy scenes. Hudson leaves behind the only life she has ever known in the city and runs into Connor’s group of Outlaws. She has never lived in the moment like they have and she has to adapt to their way of life. Because of her ties to the city, she has to lie about her real identity. She’s definitely not weak. She’s eager to learn and she goes after what she wants.
Connor hasn’t asked to be the leader of the group of Outlaws, he just is. He doesn’t want to let Hudson join the group, but the group convinces him to. He’s an asshole most of the time. He wants revenge against the enforcers. It takes a while for Hudson to get under his skin and break down the walls he has built up. Their chemistry together was off the charts and they did develop an actual relationship over the course of the book, but what will happen when Hudson’s real identity comes to light?
SETS THE STAGE FOR THE SERIES
Elle Kennedy has created an intriguing world and introduced characters that I want to see more from. CLAIMED was a good series starter filled with heat and action. Elle knows how to introduce side characters and get you all excited to read more about them. There’s a certain Outlaw who I hope gets his own book, very soon. There were some things left unanswered in CLAIMED that I can’t wait to find more about in the next series. I have a feeling this series is going to be like the Killer Instincts, meaning each book will get better.
Conclusion:
Elle Kennedy always delivers a well-written story in whatever genre she writes in. CLAIMED was no exception and she brought her A-game. Filled with heat, action, strong characters, and an intriguing world CLAIMED sucks you in from the get go and leaves you wanting more. I can’t wait to see where this series goes next and to find out more about these characters.

**FULL REVIEW TO COME CLOSER TO RELEASE DAY*
Guys. This book. It's not something that's for EVERYONE. I realize that. But I loved it. It was edgy and dirty and totally consumed me until I finished it. I had to stop and do real life things about halfway through and I wanted to throw a temper tantrum because I was so anxious to get back to it. I cannot WAIT for the next book.
I read a lot of romance and it honestly takes a lot for me to be rendered speechless. Claimed? Totally did it. I sent I don't even know how many OMG freak out texts to my friend while I was reading it. This book is so much more than just sexy as hell romance, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that's a bit part of why I loved it as much as I did. This is the first adult dystopian that I've read, so I wasn't expecting for sex to play such a huge part it in because, well, it doesn't in the YA books I've read. (I mean, duh.) But, in this world where sex is both a form of trade and one of the last true indulgences, it was important. Things that are considered taboo in our world definitely weren't in the one that Elle built in this book.
I loved the characters and found myself squarely in their corners and desperately wanting to know more about them. Connor. Gah. That man, with his possessive, controlling tendencies and his dirty mouth and complicated past? Good god. I loved him. Hudson was a great female lead. I admired her strength in trying to escape her former life and the expectations that came with it. The other men in Connor's group were fantastic, too. I can't wait to get more of each of their stories.
This book was utterly captivating. I loved the action and the setup for the romance. I loved the dirty hot times and the way the story progressed both with regards to the romantic and non-romantic plots. If this sounds like it might be your type of book, don't wait. Pick it up now. You won't be sorry.
Did I mention I loved this and can't wait to get my hot little hands on the next book? Because, yeah. Damn.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
