A terrible reflection on how money can buy terrible things and cause so much pain.  Some business and legal people can behave so badly all reflecting their greed at the expense of good people and terrible circumstances

There's a reason John Grisham sells so many books. He does a great job developing characters and building suspense. Quick, easy read.

Not one of my favorite Grisham books. The beginning premise reminded me of "Erin Brockovich". It was interesting to see how the political game is played and how people are bought. This book really didn't hold my attention and I found it hard to get through it.

This book sure made you think of how the judicial system works. Do we elect people based on their ability to judge on fairness, morals, and equality or are they picked with money. It makes you think. The book was better than the Associate, but not the quality of his books from yesterday.

It's quite possible that I've outgrown Grisham books which makes me a little sad. I used to love the legal thrillers and they kept me on my toes. This one was kind of boring and hard to get into. Characters kept being added throughout the book which made it hard for me to really settle in with the book. Plus the subject matter was a bit depressing. While the concepts and the story he was trying to tell are important it may have just been the wrong book for me at this time.

This was an interesting book. If it's close to the truth, then it's heartbreaking to think that the court system can be so easily manipulated. I totally agree that some plaintiffs are awarded frivolous awards and they taint the true tragic cases from corporate corruption and incompetence/negligence in the medical field. Hated the end. It was not a typical Grisham novel. Kinda depressing. Glad I only paid $2 for it at a library sale

My heart just bled a bit more. Goddamn greedy sons of bitches. This book would get five stars if it were truly a work of fiction but sadly this shit ACTUALLY HAPPENS. Argh.

I haven't read Grisham in a while. I didn't think this book was that great. The reality of what has happened in some of our courts is much more engaging.

A good, if frustrating story.  Some of the passages were a bit slow, but over all it moved along.
