One Week to Score (Tall, Dark, and Texan #3) by Kate Meader is the long awaited conclusion in the Tall, Dark, and Texan series and it does not disappoint. If you have not read the other books in this series, no worries because you can read this as a stand alone. There is a bit of back story given about the characters, but not so much that it weighs down the story with a lot of details. This is the story of Olivia and Flynn.

Olivia Kane is the princess of the Kane family. She is the younger sister of Brody and has forever in his shadow. Never good enough by her families standards, not smart enough, not pretty enough, not thin enough, not lady-like enough. But her brother's best friend Flynn Cross has always been the one that has seen her for more that she is. Has seen the real Olivia, and she has loved him for years. But for some reason after Flynn went into the Marines, he cut all ties with Olivia, leaving her feeling alone, adrift, and again, unwanted. On her wedding day, she finds her soon to be husband and her maid of honor getting it on in the back of the church. Olivia decides that she needs to get away and regroup, get her armor back in place, so why not take advantage of the honeymoon for one.

Flynn Cross has loved Olivia since she was sixteen years old. Never wanting to rock the boat, with her brother Brody being his best friend, with her mother telling him that his will never be good enough for Princess Olivia, Flynn has loved her from afar. When an IED while on tour almost takes his life, he decides to spare Olivia that pain, and asks Brody to keep her in the dark. When he is invited to her wedding, he knows that it is now or never to try and win her. When she decides to go on the honeymoon by herself to engage in random hook-ups, Flynn decides to tag along, keep her out of trouble and convince her to allow him to be her one week hook-up.

When some truths come to light, when big brother Brody tracks Olivia and Flynn down, and when Olivia finds out exactly how her ex and her ex best friend hooked up, it will take fast work on Flynn's part to get Olivia to see that what they have is more than a one week fling, it is a forever kind of love.

OMG! I can say that this book is HOT HOT HOT! Flynn and Olivia have a chemistry that burns the pages of this amazing story. This book made me laugh at their banter, made me cry at their heartbreak, and left me panting when they finally got together. The fact that Flynn stood up to his best friend, letting him know that no matter what he thought, no matter what he tried to do to stop him, that he was going after the one woman that he has loved forever. The fact that Olivia has loved Flynn for just as long, but was afraid that he would eventually get tired of her, find her wanting and leave broke my heart. These characters are so perfectly matched for each other, both a broken, both are looking for acceptance and love and they find that and so much more with each other.

I have loved Kate Meader and her writing forever, and I am sad to see this series come to an end, but I am hopeful and eager for the next series to come. An amazing summer read that will have you wishing you were somewhere on a beach with a drink and a HUNK like Flynn.

I was given an ARC of this book for an honest review.

*SIGH* I'm such a sucker for sibling BFF romances. The banter between Liv and Flynn was funny, and I love Liv for not letting her wedding surprise get her down. The chemistry between the two was off the charts, and the sex scenes were sorching! I do have to say that I wasn't a Flynn fan at first; he actually annoyed me through most of the book because while I understand he was messed up after coming home from overseas, his reasoning for pushing Liv away and ruining their friendship was not ok, and Liv's brother going along with Flynn irritated me as well. Why can't adults ever just be honest and communicate?! Thankfully, Flynn came around and changed my mind in the end.

The only thing that really bothered me about the story was the Texas twang seemed to come and go from the MCs' dialogue/thoughts. It jolted me out of the story a couple of times because they'd be speaking or thinking normally, then the twang would show up for a thought or two, then disappear again. If it had been consistent throughout the story, it would have been less bothersome.

One Week to Score is the third book in the Tall, Dark, and Texan series by Kate Meader. This is my first book by her and can easily be read as a standalone story, though the books in this series are interconnected. I really enjoyed this story, and I liked the characters a lot. After reading this book, I will definitely be reading more from Kate Meader in the future. I can't wait to go back and read the previous books in this series.

Olivia Kane just found her fiance hooking up with her maid of honor on her wedding day, and heads to the hotel bar to drown her sorrows and maybe find a hook-up of her own. But when her brother's best friend and the man who broke her heart shows up, her day goes from bad to worse. Flynn Cross has no intention of letting Olivia find comfort in the arms of another man, and he sets out to make sure that if she is looking for sex it will be with him. He follows her on her honeymoon, and they begin a week filled with pleasure. What starts out as them fulfilling their forbidden desires they have always fantasized about but never acted on quickly turns to more, and soon both Flynn and Olivia are wondering if there is something more between them. But Flynn's secrets could destroy everything they are building, and the truth always comes out in the end.

I really liked both Flynn and Olivia. I hated how he had hurt her before, but the more we got to see of Flynn the easier it was to see why he had done the things he did. It didn't excuse his actions, but I did feel for him. He was sweet and sexy, and the perfect match for Olivia. Olivia was strong and easy to like and relate to. She hadn't had the easiest childhood, despite the wealth and status of her family and I loved that Flynn had always seen how great she was. These two had so much chemistry between them, but they also had a great connection. Their relationship had been easy and filled with friendship and so much more, even if they had never acted on it. I really enjoyed seeing them explore that side of their connection though, and I couldn't get enough of them together.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and read it pretty much straight through. It was sexy and sweet, and really funny! I was surprised just how witty these two were and I had such a great time with their banter. They were so much fun to read about, and this book was exactly what I had been looking for. It was light and easy to lose myself in for a few hours, while also being filled with enough steam to keep me flipping the pages and hungry for more. I liked these two so much and I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great contemporary read. I look forward to reading more from Kate Meader in the future and I am excited to go back and read the previous books, especially Olivia's brother's story.

There was so much to like about this book I don't know where to start. The writing is fantastic, the characters are well-developed and the arc of the story flowed perfectly from beginning to end.
Flynn is sex on a stick with a touch of bad boy that hides a true romantic at heart. He's had feelings for his best friend's sister, Olivia, since they were teenagers and her family took him in but he's never crossed that line because of who she is and because he doesn't feel like he's good enough for her. When Olivia's wedding turns into a disaster and she escapes to take a honeymoon for one Flynn sees it as his opportunity to finally cross the line, but only for a week because that's all he's good for.
Olivia's had feelings for Flynn since the moment she met him but he's never seen her as anything more than a sisterly friend. Even 7 years ago when she thought they might be more, he apparently thought differently. Now he's offered to be her sex toy for one week to help her get over her ex-fiancé and out from under a total stranger.
I love Olivia because she didn't hold back any punches. Even though her wedding just fell to pieces before her very eyes she doesn't sulk or whine, she charges full speed ahead to do something, or someone, just for herself. She's the epitome of a spitfire and she gives just as good as she gets.
Together Flynn and Olivia were combustible. I could feel the sexual tension and emotions between them right away. There Mexican getaway was uber sexy but it also turned into a romantic outing and they easily slip into what seems like something that will last beyond the week they both commuted to but Flynn has a secret and it just might be the final nail in the coffin of their relationship.
This might just be my favorite book in the series. I absolutely swooned over Flynn, even after learning his secret. I know I couldn't hear him, but the voice that Kate Meader gave him was panty-melting. And Olivia is probably one of my favorite heroines in recent history. She strong with just a touch of vulnerability that doesn't translate into weakness but rather a fierceness that I found extremely attractive. In the letter to readers in the beginning of the book Kate Meader explains her fear of writing a brothers best friend romance out of fear of writing something predictable but she did a great job of not writing F the same old same old story. I'm sad to see this series come to an end but can't wait for what she's has coming.

A sexy, fun, hot and at times swoon worthy read. With no major angst, two extremely likable characters in Flynn and Olivia who both had plenty of chemistry and sparks definitely flew when they were together which lead to a very enjoyable read and one I would certainly recommend to others.

This was so fun and sexy! An entertaining, light read that was just a joy to lose myself in. Stories like this are so great because they contain just the right mix of playfulness, animosity and heat.

Olivia and Flynn were great characters. I was so excited to read their story thanks to meeting them in the other books in the series. Loved their bickering and animosity, it created some nice heat and I loved seeing those sparks fly. Olivia was great. She's put up with a lot so it's nice to see her really go for what she wants. Flynn was really sweet. He had so many great emotional moments when he laid it all out, he made my heart melt. Nice character development, just enough info to get you completely invested but not super in depth. I got who they were and what they were battling and I was all in. I loved learning about their history together, really building the chemistry and want between the two. Loved their growing connection and chemistry. There was a nice build to the heat as well... super steamy!

There's some light drama and conflict to bring it all together which I thought was awesome. Great writing and descriptions, and there was a decent pace throughout. A nice mix of hot and playful. Good overall development and story. It's not super deep but it's a really good, sexy, entertaining read. I totally enjoyed it.

It started great, had a solid middle, and excellent ending. Fantastic epilogue. This has been a really great series. I'm sorry to see it end but it's going out with a bang thanks to this friends-to-lover’s story with Olivia and Flynn!

My review cross-posted from Wit and Sin: http://witandsin.blogspot.com/2016/07/review-one-week-to-score-by-kate-meader.html

When Olivia’s wedding day crashes and burns spectacularly – finding your groom doing the maid of honor minutes before the wedding will do that – the bride that wasn’t decides to take a solo honeymoon and enjoy a string of hot hookups. The only problem? One tall, dark, and sexy Texan in her way. Flynn is her brother’s best friend, but he’s also the man who broke her heart years ago. No one could be more shocked than she when Flynn offers to scratch all her itches for the next week. But can Liv enjoy a red-hot secret fling with the one man she’s always wanted without losing her heart?

One Week to Score is a smokin’ hot romance I loved from beginning to end! Flynn and Oliva are flawed, wonderful characters who endeared themselves to me from the start and their rocky, passionate romance is enthralling.

Liv is a smart, capable woman who has spent her entire life being forced into certain roles by those who should have loved her for who she is. Only Flynn has ever seen the true her, and he broke her heart by cutting her out of his life seven years ago. Liv has spirit and charm, and she’s also a bit vulnerable; it’s easy to adore her. As for Flynn… Man, is he one sexy Texan. But beneath that rock-hard bod and cocky charm is a man who has never felt good enough for Liv. It’s easy to see these two love one another, but it’s not easy for Flynn to trust in himself and what he and Liv could have, and that’s before he adds on the guilt of breaking the bro code by sleeping with his best friend’s sister. It’s equally difficult for Liv to risk her heart, especially since Flynn has hurt her in the past. Flynn isn’t a bad guy – not in the slightest – but he sometimes does the wrong thing for misguided (if mostly well-intentioned) reasons. As I said before, both of them are flawed, and it’s their flaws that gave them depth.

It’s a rocky road to true love conquering all in One Week to Score, but author Kate Meader makes every bump in the road worth it. The sexual innuendo Flynn flings, Liv’s ready quips, the scorching love scenes, and the surprisingly sweet moments in between all combine to make this one seriously addictive story. I hated it whenever I had to put my Kindle down because the off-the-charts hot chemistry Liv and Flynn have is simply fantastic. If you like down and dirty heroes and strong-willed, sensual heroines, you won’t want to miss One Week to Score!

why do I love reading books with the hero pushing the heroine away "for her own good" I mean what kind of bastard does that like the girl can't think and make decisions for herself Lisa what why

for the life of me I cannot finish Emma and Brody's book but I had a smooth journey with this one. I love the banter between Flynn and Livvie. Flynn's a charmer and hilarious I'm basically half in love with him from the start despite his assholish ways (the condom prank? WAY OUT OF LINE), and Livvie's a feisty one I love girls who give back as good as they get.

I loved it! It's one hot and steamy romance novel. The chemistry between Olivia and Flynn is off the charts. Story is good and it's well-written. I enjoyed reading this amazing book.

Olivia's wedding was supposed to be perfect but it turned out to be a disaster. Now she is going off to her honeymoon alone, as well as heartbroken, and what more Flynn is there to taunt her. She hates him. She wants to be alone to just forget about the whole ordeal. Apparently that's too much to ask for. She must deal with her brother's good-for-nothing friends as well.

Flynn is worried for Olivia and just wants to make sure that she is ok. But as soon as they are alone in Mexico things get out of hands. After all it has been long time since he is trying to control his lust for his best friend's baby sister. Olivia is an amazing woman and her ex-fiance is an idiot for not seeing that. So here he is trying to pick up the pieces and may be he will also make amends for his past behaviour, only if Olivia let's him...

This is perfect summer read. The kind of story which keeps readers engrossed, and well entertained, totally worth the read.
