Series of vignettes of Thurber’s life. Mostly events he found embarrassing but now he can laugh at.

"The Night The Bed Fell on Father" is my favorite of all the essays, but they are all great. What a weird book, and I mean this in the best possible way.

This was mildly amusing. Maybe it's of its time (published in 1933, set in the 1910s) but hilarious it is not.

Thurber is supposed to be a classic 20th c American humorist. But maybe this work was too dated for me. I was hoping for the wit of Dorothy Parker, but i didn't find it here. I'll try again w/Thurber before giving up.

Much of it was funny, though some of the humor is rather dated and would not be received well today, and for good reason.
