I have never cried so much reading a book, and now I'm finished i'm dazed and bereft. It is testement to Robin Hobbs incredible imagination and talent that readers can be left feeling the emense weight of loss when the book is completed.

I am deeply in love with the character of the Fool, he is one of the most intriguing, beautiful characters I have found in a story for a long time, and i read ALOT of books!. His relationship with Fitz is heart achingly beautiful, moving and poigniant.

I want to tell everyone I know...and complete strangers about this trilogy.

In our world of constant wall to wall vacuousness and celeb news, this trilogy provides a believable and wonderful escape into an intricately woven world without smartphones, and TV's, but with plenty of magic! Who needs the repeats on TV, when a book is THIS good! The fast paced story is unputdownable and readers are pulled along on a breathtaking rollercoaster ride of emotions. The ending wasn't the one I wanted for Fitz,but you can't have everything!.

I started reading this a while ago and just couldn't get past the beginning on the boats. I had to set it aside and take a long break from the series because Fitz and Chade kind of drive me nuts. But I've been in a fantasy mood of late and read another series that reminded me of this one so I decided to come back and give it another shot. I'm glad I did. This book is much better than the previous few in the series. Some things still took a while to get going and move along, but I feel like everything came to a nice end. I have to admit, though, that I'm looking forward to going back to the Rainwilds in the next few books and giving Fitz a break.
