I find the antagonists and threats are always dialled up a notch in Grace Burrowes’s books compared to some other historical romance authors, and this was no exception. The antagonist was a one-dimensional stereotypical villain which led to some incredibly dramatic moments of confrontations. That said, I loved the introduction of the MacGregor family and their dynamic. I also enjoyed the offhand comments about the older brother off gallivanting in Nova Scotia, because of course.

Way too slow and every time you got to know a character, another person took center stage. Not my favorite aspect of a romance novel.

This  a perfectly fine historical romance book that I really liked when I first read it. Only 3 stars because it was not really memorable.

Great twist on a Titled Lord needing to wed for money! All the romances in the story was a refreshing change. Hope the older brother makes it home from "the wilds" of Canada and we get his story next.
