I honestly enjoyed this book more than I thought I would, but I can’t get over how unnecessarily long it was
considering this was my first why choose book it lowkey was kinda interesting but like what was the end goal?? like it wasn’t bad but more i kept reading it just felt like rachel only kept her relationship a secret because of the media and that’s it yk??

Whew. This book was dirty good in the best possible way.
I wasn’t sure what to expect going in. I’m not a sports girlie by any means, but Emily Rath did such a great job keeping the hockey details light and accessible. I never felt lost, which I appreciated. It was just enough to get the setting without making me Google rules or the hockey world.
The guys?? Loved them all for completely different reasons. Each of them had their own vibe and personality, and Rath balanced them out perfectly. No one felt left out, and no dynamic felt rushed. Every scene had purpose, personality, and ✨heat✨.
Also, some twists actually surprised me (Dr. Halla?! HELLO??) and I loved that the drama didn’t rely on clichés. Also, no weird pregnancy bomb at the end, thank you very much.
This book gave me chaos, chemistry, and connection, and I absolutely ate it up.
When I read this, Goodreads was weird about giving it ratings, so I just left it there and went my merry way.
The way I devoured this book, though!!! No words. It took me A DAY to read this almost 800 page book and I think I would do it all over again.
I considered giving it a 5 stars, but it's been months and I'm still not sure where my rating lies. The only thing I'm sure of is that this was a vibe and it deserves 4.5 and above from me.
