In this "hare"-raising adventure (pun intended), Harold, Chester, Howie and the Monroes go on a family camping trip. They meet a pair of brothers and their dog (named Dawg) near the lake and Chester is immediately suspicious of the strangers. Things unravel quickly when the Monroe family opts to go for "a 20 min hike" that becomes a bit more like Gilligan's 3 hour tour. The pets and the Monroes are separated and as midnight on St George's Day (the auspicious day of the camping trip) draws near, danger seems imminent for all...
My niece E really enjoyed this book and was surprised by the twists in the story. It had some mild suspense, as well as, the level of simple mystery and storytelling that readers have come to expect from the Bunnicula series. I appreciated the further development of Bunnicula's backstory.

This one was pretty fun. Chester’s story was probably my favorite part.
