This was an absolutely fun ride!

This was my first book by Bandon Sanderson and hopefully will not be the last. His writing is definitely worth the hype.

At it's core this is not only a great detective story but also a great sci-fi. We follow 2 detectives Davis and Chaz using the Snapshot technology to solve a case. The snapshot technology is basically the recreation a whole day. During their assignment these two decide to investigate a case above their pay grade. And that is around everything you should never before picking up this book.

The world building was epic. I honestly only had one question; if they recreate the whole day what happens to the versions of the investigating detectives from that day?

I also enjoyed how it sort of explores what one will do if there were going to be no consequences.

This book reminded me of [b:The Dispatcher|26082188|The Dispatcher|John Scalzi|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1474569919l/26082188._SX50_.jpg|46020966] which was also a short novella. And I highly recommend it

I feel like the only problem I really had was with the characters. For me characters are more or at least as important as the plot. And I was just not interested in these guys; not cause they were flawed; I just felt disconnected from them. Another was BURRITO. Omg I think this guy rambles on about it for around 10min in the start and I would've given up; it's been around a month since I read this but i still remember that damn burrito.

The ending was absolutely mind blowing did not see it coming.

So the reason why I do my reviews late (besides being lazy and not having that much time) is that once you've had some time with your thoughts about a book they might change a little. As you can see my immediate reaction to this book is of total awe but now that I've thought about it for some days while I'm still in awe over it; it's just not that much.

4 stars!

Brilliant is what I can say for this book. Brandon is able to make a world so real and intricate in just 130 pages.

A bit of a rollercoaster, but in a good way. Very soon when I started to get bored, it dragged me in again. Great idea and I love how that went, but the way the story was written felt a bit summarised, underdeveloped in a way. I'm not a fan of dragged out main plot lines, but somehow this time I wanted longer, I wanted to live through the story more slowly, almost more teasingly.
