Life of Melody is the second graphic novel I’ve bought that came out of the Seven Seas + Hiveworks collaboration (the other, which I reviewed not too long ago, was Persephone).

In LoM, we follow two supernatural entities: Razzmatazz, a fairy from another realm on a quest to raise a fairytale from childhood so that he can finally do his job correctly, and Bon, a beast from another realm that has wandered the world in search of at least one human that won’t be scared of him (as we learn in the extra, not quite in the canon storyline). When these very different men come across a crying child in the woods at the exact same time, they do the only thing that makes sense: pretend to be a married human couple so they can raise their newfound daughter together.

Life of Melody is a sweet story featuring found families, love in unfamiliar places, and two disaster dads constantly flirting with each other despite proclaiming to hate one another. This is a wonderfully vibrant graphic novel good for anyone looking for the sort of read that takes away your worries for a little while.

SpoilerThe reason I knocked this down a star was because a few of the worldbuilding points weren’t really explained. If they had been, this would have been a 5 Star read from me for sure.

A fairy with fangs, a burly beast with a heart of gold, and an orphaned baby: I am exactly the target audience for this adorable enemies-to-dads-to-lovers graphic novel.

I loved this story! It was an excellent read and beautifully illustrated. I do feel like it struggled from some pacing issues, but that happens often with Webcomics! Over all, a new favorite! :)

Such a sweet and beautifully illustrated graphic novel!

From the very first pages I was hooked. Before starting this book I thought that it was a story about a gay woman and gay man raising a baby together…but when I found out that it was two gay men and realized that they probably would fall in love I squealed!

I love Razz’ and Bon’s enemies —> friends —> lovers romance. It was such a sweet get gripping story. The ending made me want to cry, so beautiful.

The only negative thing I have to say is that I didn’t like when they both “accidentally” hurt each other. The book didn’t need that.

A++++++++ for the amazing & colorful art! Wow!
