Probably my favorite of Holly Black's fairy book. I felt like this one struck the balance between contemporary world and fairy much better than the previous volumes. Really enjoyable and I read it in a day.

I devoured this book.
I loved returning to Kaye as she tried to solve an impossible quest to be with the faerie she loves, whilst also trying to keep herself and Corny alive with the seelie court trying to kill them.
I feel like all the characters change and grow, we see Corny become more like himself after everything that happened to him in the first book and as he comes to terms with the fact that he is mortal.
I love the politics and the deceit that the courts do to each other.
It’s fast paced and still holds the gritty and dark vibes from the first two books. The ending was perfect it really showed Kaye and Roiben’s characters.
Although be warned that some of the terms and wordings are a bit outdated, but that’s to be expected with a book released in 2008.
