I couldn't finish this. From the self-centered characters to the slow-paced plot, I found nothing about this book enjoyable. Started slow but got better.
Deep book, definitely set in the time.

Meh. I liked Birdsong but since then every Sebastian Faulks book I've read has been a disappointment with mostly unlikeable characters, and often toxic relationships too.
