I loved the first 2/3 of this book. I found the story of a recent college grad struggling to find her place in a new job and who she was as a person very relatable. But then the last part of the book seemed rushed and was kind of confusing. I didn't really feel like sold the betrayal from the theft of the culture. Also the revel of the true identity of Mr Marrow felt really odd and forced. This book had great possibility but a one star ending.

A little silly, surprisingly sweet, and very unique. Really enjoyable, casual read.

This is my third Robin Sloan book in a row - after Mr Penumbra and Moonbound- and I'm feeling a little disappointed that he seems to have written no other full length novels. I want more! I love the worlds he builds and the way he builds them. Moonbound and Sourdough felt slightly better than Mr Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore, but I liked all three, and loved this one's tale in particular. I agree with the reviewers who say the ending was a little flat, but the world building and general atmosphere of the book more than make it up for me. I look forward to rereading both this and Moonbound in years to come.
