Cute fun, slow burn without leaving you fully unsatisfied throughout. Love the feminist themes and a man who listens????

This book started off extremely slow but once the characters developed it was more than a romance story. Watching them take control over a broken and manipulative porn industry was great!!!

okay first of all idk how i got what this book was abt so wrong but i had no idea what the plot was going into it i thought it was something completely different but i still really enjoyed it. i honestly give 4/5 mainly bc like clara goes from ny to california to move in w her lifelong crush and instead moves in w a stranger. she was gonna leave but didn’t bc she was convinced not to. that enough i can buy like if u packed up ur whole life on a whim it was probably for good reason like if her life in ny was so good she wouldn’t have left anyway that’s not the point. what i don’t believe is how she got stuck with this stranger and was immediately like good friends and hanging out with him. maybe it’s just a me thing and that would never be how things played out had i decided to stay it just would’ve taken so much longer to be comfortable living with a stranger. anyways that’s the big issue i feel like their friendship developed too quickly no only bc he was a stranger but be of her big expectations of her moving to california to begin with.

besides that i did really enjoy the plot the characters were really likable and funny and i actually really enjoyed the plot. and i actually found it a lot deeper then it probably was intended to be. like both the characters learned so much about themselves and worked on a project that they never knew they’d be so passionate about but was really natural for them even tho it was totally out of clara’s comfort zone she really had a lot of faith in josh and cared about the project equally. it also was really about finding strength in yourself and realizing what you are capable of. also found family and community too. it also touched a lot on the assumptions people make about you and how that affects how you treat others and learning how to trust people but also forgiveness for forcing assumptions on others. i really enjoyed it the story was fun and quick and nothing like i expected
