It's official: I'm now a romance girly. [RECORD SCRATCH HERE] Hold up - let's not get too far ahead of ourselves - but! I absolutely adored this book. After reading it, I literally gave it a hug. Anyone who knows about astrology knows that I am an Aquarius Sun, Capricorn Moon, and Virgo Rising... which should tell you how slightly cold my heart is (lol jk) so let's just say I am not one to pick up romance right away! Aside from the astrology, this was my first Emily Henry novel, and I just absolutely loved it. It was funny, heartbreaking, dramatic, and sexy. It was more than just a love story; it was a story about the importance of caring for those who are important in your life. I don't have much to compare it to, but Charlie Lastra was a great book boyfriend who always supported Nora's dreams and put her first. I'm not sure about you, but this book screamed Gilmore Girls to me. Sunshine Falls was so much like Stars Hollow, with its quirky storefronts, townspeople, strange plays, and town meetings, that I ate it up! Also was Charlie Lastra not Jess?! He totally was a Jess. This is now one of my comfort books because it made me feel very cozy and full of love! I would highly recommend this for an easy, breezy, sexy and fun read that will warm your heart.

Another reread, but once upon a time this was my first Emily Henry book. I loved it so much, I knew I had to devour all her other romances. Her voice shines so clearly, though each love story and its characters are all very much their own. Her ability to craft a trope-filled story and still have the people and places feel so real is honestly inspiring. Even though I can't personally relate very much to Nora or Charlie, they are so fleshed out and human that I can't help but see myself and my partner in them.

Charlie is my number one book boyf.
Omg. I wasn't expecting this at all..I thought it was just a chic lit romance novel and it started off a little slow. The first few texts between the two didn't have any spark. The burn didn't come until later when she arrives at the town. But what got me was the relationship between the sisters. The last part made me cry. The way her life revolved around her sister and how she finally realized she was worth it to be happy as well. So many things to unwrap here.
4.5
as an eldest daughter who loves books and gilmore girls, this book SPOKE TO ME !
- two words to describe it: a delicious read that just hits the right spots
- it makes you feel like a main character in your own story its crazy idk how the book did it
- the introduction fucking slayed i was hooked within the first few sentences
- u just feel for nora and her fear.
- another thing that i love is that you see these characters’ imperfections and it isnt something stupid like miscommunication, its deeper than that. they commit mistakes that we do their choices and their stupid decisions are what we do and u just all the more love it
- you see more depth of the characters in a way that u see why theyre like that bec of their lives and experiences and most books dont get into that much detail
- emily henry did it again with hitting it home (though beach read will always and forever be different)
- i love the banter so much its giving gilmore girlies lorelai wittiness and smartness
- chalie lastra is one sexy bitch ?!? i was blown away by his humor i thought he was gonna be a grumpy dude but NOPE HES SO WITTY I LOVE IT
- i love how they didnt beat around the bush and just made out already !!! it was definitely a unique type of slowburn which i loved cos they both didnt try to hide the fact that they were attracted to each other (which is a breath of fresh air in romcoms thank u gsus)
- the chemistry was ooozing !
- it defines my love for books so much :(
