This novel was cute in what seems to be an Emily Henry-specific way.
Really, this rating is a 3.5. The story itself was well done, but what didn't sit well with me was Nora's (and others) constant inner turmoil/unnecessary tension, the characters, and how they interacted. I can't even express why; I just felt the "ick" on several occasions.
My favorite moments were all book-related and book-centric.

It's official: I'm now a romance girly. [RECORD SCRATCH HERE] Hold up - let's not get too far ahead of ourselves - but! I absolutely adored this book. After reading it, I literally gave it a hug. Anyone who knows about astrology knows that I am an Aquarius Sun, Capricorn Moon, and Virgo Rising... which should tell you how slightly cold my heart is (lol jk) so let's just say I am not one to pick up romance right away! Aside from the astrology, this was my first Emily Henry novel, and I just absolutely loved it. It was funny, heartbreaking, dramatic, and sexy. It was more than just a love story; it was a story about the importance of caring for those who are important in your life. I don't have much to compare it to, but Charlie Lastra was a great book boyfriend who always supported Nora's dreams and put her first. I'm not sure about you, but this book screamed Gilmore Girls to me. Sunshine Falls was so much like Stars Hollow, with its quirky storefronts, townspeople, strange plays, and town meetings, that I ate it up! Also was Charlie Lastra not Jess?! He totally was a Jess. This is now one of my comfort books because it made me feel very cozy and full of love! I would highly recommend this for an easy, breezy, sexy and fun read that will warm your heart.

Another reread, but once upon a time this was my first Emily Henry book. I loved it so much, I knew I had to devour all her other romances. Her voice shines so clearly, though each love story and its characters are all very much their own. Her ability to craft a trope-filled story and still have the people and places feel so real is honestly inspiring. Even though I can't personally relate very much to Nora or Charlie, they are so fleshed out and human that I can't help but see myself and my partner in them.

Charlie is my number one book boyf.
Omg. I wasn't expecting this at all..I thought it was just a chic lit romance novel and it started off a little slow. The first few texts between the two didn't have any spark. The burn didn't come until later when she arrives at the town. But what got me was the relationship between the sisters. The last part made me cry. The way her life revolved around her sister and how she finally realized she was worth it to be happy as well. So many things to unwrap here.
