Emily Henry has done it again. As a girl who has lost her mom and has one sibling, a younger sister, this book wrecked my heart and then pieced it back together. I loved Nora’s not so typical character and her “nightmare brain.” Charlie. Lastra. The things he says and the way he shows up for Nora in the ways she needs and vice versa. Your honor I love them!

The kind of Gilmore Girls-style banter witty girls want but can't find in real life. Acknowledges the tropes and leans into them in all the right ways that make those tropes so popular. I don't recall giving this book permission to give me feelings though... but its forgiven.

even though i am a lesbian... i did enjoy this book. i did skip over the smut because i think i would gag hahah. but i am a romcom lover and hopeless romantic... so you know, i had to read one of emily henry's books. the enemies to lovers trope is definitely one of my favorites. the relationship between libby and nora alone, warmed my heart. as someone who definitely is a libby more than a nora, but also does not have any siblings yet really connected with their relationship. also the small town vibes reminded me of sweet home alabama a bit, which is a great movie. some lines really got to me- like 'a reminder that there are things in life so valuable that you MUST risk the pain of losing them for the joy briefly having them' and 'even if it hurts, when he shimmers across my mind, it's like remembering a favorite book. one that left you gutted, sure, but also one that changed you forever'. this was a good easy breezy read for my vacation. would definitely recommend to a friend. also would love to see this as a movie adaptation.

If you're looking for a story that brings together romance, sisters, self-discovery, healing, dedication to family, witty banter, checklists, and small town charm, look no further.
First off, Ms. Henry knows how to write some wonderfully witty banter. I think in every book of hers I've read, the banter is always topnotch, and I always end up laughing out loud throughout the book. She also writes romantic chemistry very well. Charlie and Nora had that slow burn, angsty pining going on for so long, and when they were finally able to be together, it was well-deserved.
I enjoyed the literary agent/book editor perspectives and liked that Charlie and Nora were able to combine their talents, careers, and love of books into one powerhouse person when they most needed to. They made a dynamic duo and seamlessly worked together.
Alot of die-hard romcom lovers weren't the biggest fan of this book because the focus isn't strictly on Charlie and Nora, but I personally LOVED the sister side story and ensuing shenanigans. All of it tied into Nora, her view of herself, how she thinks others view her, and how those feelings manifest in her daily life. The tragedy in her past continues to haunt her daily, and because of that, it affects how she treats Libby, herself, Charlie, her career, and literally everything else in her life.
I loved watching Nora and Libby together, but my heart broke for them both. Nora felt she had to do everything and drop everything to care for Libby, but Libby just wanted her sister to love life and fulfill her dreams. Neither wanted to stand in the way of the other's happiness, but at the same time, they wanted so desperately to never have to be apart from each other.
I'm not a firm believer that a romcom has to solely focus on the main character's romance, so that deviation from the overarching romance didn't deter me in the slightest.
This book had fun, laughs, serious discussions, plenty of tear-inducing moments, a good bit of steam, a crap-ton of books, and a neatly done ending that left me content!
