3.5* rounded to 3.
I liked the characters a lot, though I found Nora to be a bit annoying at times. She acts like moving cities is the end of the world when it's not in the modern day life with phones and quick travel.
The humor in this book was definitely spot on, I found myself laughing at certain points.
The only other main problem is most of the book's drama could be solved with simple communication.

listen. i know what i want in a romance book. i want all laughs, all cutesy moments, no seriousness, no dramatic break-up, no deep truths to be learned. just give me the serotonin.

and i so respect emily henry for bringing in deep relational topics and others kinds of love into her stories. i think she does it in a lovely and engaging way. but it's not my thing! i might have liked this more if i had read it before beach read, but i kept comparing them and beach read just came out on top every time.

i will still read people we meet on vacation because i am determined to love emily henry. but i need a tolerance break.
