I am confused about this book. The premise is great. The beginning was strong, but it very quickly went downhill. There is no plot. There are characters that are developed a little bit? The ending was so anticlimactic. And there are so many big world building things in this that ended up having no purpose. Like there is a space station for billionaires, but I could not tell you how it was set up and this book is not short. Usually sci-fi novels explain any space structures with lots of cool details. That didn’t happen here.

i thought this was an interesting look at how the future of humanity could and very well might progress.
the technology just being a phone thats an in-ear implant was neat. it wasn't full ai where it would talk and what not but it recorded everything you ever experience and let you browse through memories even if you couldn't remember - the human brain but better.
i think i understand why some people wouldn't like this. its just seeing how people live in a circumstance without any real conclusion its just a slice of their lives. which i think is the point of literary fiction but who knows.
it was interesting. the earth is in ruins, heat and fire rings terrorizing the us.. 130 degrees being the norm. so much pollution that scientists are trying to combat the carbon problem. the wealthy 1o are funding a space station they can live on. the working scientists there live in hovels while there is an entirely untouched district of space mansions to be filled once they know for a fact that it is safe. any advancement they come up with can only help the space station, earth is left for dead.

This was pretty good - neat concept and some good plot elements. But it either needed to be longer, so it could go deeper on all the threads and characters introduced, or have more focus on a smaller number of them.
