A cozy murder mystery that pairs nicely with a steaming mug of tea (or coffee or cocoa). Our main character goes through a hard time only to receive word of her grandmother's passing. She gets to England, intending to sell or maybe run the shop, and discovers not all was as it appeared. This story is pretty fluffy, despite the murder. The ending was a bit predictable but the enjoyability of the rest of the story made up for it. The image of the vampires getting together to knit was equal parts funny and heartwarming- given the stereotypical image of a vampire. I don't know enough about running a business to comment on the depictions of it but I also didn't really pick up glaring issues.
Graphic: Murder, Death, and Violence
Moderate: Injury/Injury detail, Blood, and Grief
Minor: Addiction, Drug use, and Drug abuse

I borrowed this book for a quick Halloweeny read expecting cozy vampires. What I got was cozy vampires AND witches; which was a pleasant surprise.
I enjoyed the twists and turns as the book went on, and loved how Lucy found her footing in her gran’s yarn shop. I crochet and wanted to jump into the pages so I could see the yarns and sweaters the author was writing about. The coziness of the neighbourhood was wonderful, but everyone remained a suspect until the end!
A highly enjoyable book and I can’t wait to read the next in the series.

A fun read, especially with the setting of a knitting shop, but very, very little diversity made me wish there were more variety in the characters.spacerkip's review against another edition
