It’s the lack of communication and escalation for me. Mr. Gaunt ain’t right.
Okay the end of this book is ridiculous, I don't think anyone can deny that, but I honestly loved it so much that I still had to give it five stars.

It's like a rated R version of the Twilight Zone episode 'The Monsters Are Due on Maple Drive.' Give some (not so) little nudges and watch an entire town destroy itself - all with a delightfully creepy ending. Highly entertaining and still a favorite.

Needful Things is clearly Stephen King's way to exorcise his demons as he came out of rehab. While not his best, by any means, I did find this one captivating and interesting. Leland Gaunt, in particular, is one of his more haunting baddies.
Yet, in typical King fashion, it goes on just a smidge too long but about 100-150 pages.
