No less than I would expect from Stephen King, you'll be glad to hear!
No, really, it's a good book, and I definitely enjoyed reading it. It was very creepy, of course, though it hasn't kept me up at night more than any other book might. I really connected with the characters (though I kept underestimating their ages, rather stupidly), and it was both annoying and saddening when they died. It may be quite a long book, but it doesn't feel it, and certainly doesn't drag on. The way the events began to overlap was very elegantly and smoothly done, if a little confusing in places.
Great book!

What happens when an antiques store opens up in a small town? Usually nothing too dramatic. But what happens when said antiques shop owner seems to have exactly what your heart desires and instead of accepting payment in cash would rather you pay your debt by playing pranks on your neighbors? A recipe for chaos, disaster and a really great story!
This is a well constructed tale of harmless little pranks. Very quickly, a spiders web of anger and blame lead down a path of violence that all lead back to the new store in town, Needful Things. Sometimes you buy more than what you bargained for.
I really like Sheriff Alan Panghorn and I am glad he gets his own story. I knew him from The Dark Half but in Needful Things you get to really know him.

The writing is superb but it got to be a bit repetitive and near the end went a little off the rails
Overall the book was great, with great believable characters & super easy to read (all 935 pages of it). However, ending was disappointing as Mr Gaunt disappeared into the sky only to find another problematic town to prey on. A little disappointed, but overall a great story.
