A plodding book that was at least 200 pages too long and had so many characters to remember that the book should have come with a flow chart. Not one of King's best.

Overall, I really enjoyed it. I would argue it's one of King's more underrated works. Is it one of his best books? No, but it's a pretty entertaining story that build and builds with some fun characters. Sometimes too cartoon-y of characters in my opinion, but oh well. I also liked the social commentary on consumerism and materialism.

Fantastic book of people being trapped by their own fears and desires. The way the devil can play with the things we try to hide from others and force us to follow them through to it's very bitter end.
Growing up, this was one of my favorite of this author’s works. It builds. You watch it happen. You are the witness. You suspect what Needful Things is all about.
An object is inside the store that you must have. It makes things... all better. The gentleman that runs the store, he wants you to have it. He’s a salesman after all.
You watch people drift in and out of this shop, make deals and reclaim objects that remind them of good times.
The plot builds. Eh. What’s one little favor here or there. No problem.
You just watch the town go about its life, some people lost in dreams. Others are angry, so angry...
When it all comes together at the end ..... boom! Wow!

Not bad, but far from the best King I’ve read. The structure was pretty rough, making this novel feel bloated and overlong. I liked a lot of things in the book, but there’s a reason it took almost three months to finish
Not the best King, but always a page-turner. Consumerism Destroys Small Maine Town.
