too long for the story that it is

That was one of the weirdest feeling mex and combination l've ever read.
Emma this lady is truly wild she has a wild personality and unexpected attitude that made her both attractive and unwanted.
There are lots of sides in her personality that reminds me of myself and other sides that I'm pretty sure a lot of people think about in their wildest imagination.
One of the things that I've realized is that " The worst type of Love is the one that you can't feel"
I felt really bad for her husband and not because of how she treated him but because he loved her so much and did everything but she just couldn't feel a single thing and all what she has done was searching for that great love thou she has it in her own house right next to her.
I only feel sorry for that husband...and for the little girl...the ending is really devastating..
I liked the book but the ending made me kinda angry... cause I kinda wished that he at least feel angry for what she has done...Love is blind and stupid too sometimes...
And I wanted yo see her paying for all what she has done..
I just wanted to see some justice...

Well that was my previous opinion... however I've changed it now...If you just read the book you may not get what the writer is trying to explain and to show us...
It'll be just a book that is promoting cheating and Prostitution...
But once you read the trial of the book and what the writer's lawyer said and explained you'll get what the writer was trying to say and to make us understand... it's a totally different ideas and aspects.
I was blown away by his deep thinking and thoughtful ideas.
Now I understand why it's one of the most famous books. It's a must for every parents and every person to read , If you don't wanna end up like Emma.
It's a Masterpiece that needed a bit of explanation for me..
Read the Trial to understand.

Un classico intramontabile che va letto per immergersi nelle varie sfumature della miseria umana. Lo stile รจ incredibile e in poche frasi va dritto al cuore del desiderio dell'essere umano.

Oh dear, so glad I didn't live in 19th C provincial France. I have to say I struggled with the general unlikeability of the characters - Emma, Charles, and all the rest nobody really came out of it well. But I am glad I read it. it is well written, all the plot develops out of the characters personalities, are all wholly believable in that context. Its an object lesson in producing well drawn characters although the 19th taste for verbiage makes it a little chewy at points.

I'm not sure how I got through sixteen years of formal education without being forced to read this book, but it was the best used-book-store $2.50 I've ever spent. Unexpectedly engaging, sublimely disturbing -- especially when you realize how applicable its themes still are today.
