I LOVED this book. What a great mix of female friendships, realistic struggle, and historical perspectives. Kristin Hannah has a way of making you fall in love with characters and wish to see them succeed. The ending is well worth the wade through tragedy and loss. This very well may be my top read of 2025.

I couldn’t put this book down. I realized I didn’t know much about the Vietnam War, let alone about women in the world. It made me angry, sad, happy- all of the things.

I think this should have been two books, one for the war and one for after. She could have developed things in part 2 a lot more and it felt like she was trying to squeeze them in. Also F Rye.
