After seeing all the five star reviews I went into this book  hopeful.

Frankie was an annoying character who apparently fell in love with everybody.

I did not like her romance with

Rye it all felt pushed together even after they left Vietnam when they reconnect what the hell is that? He has an entire family and proposing to her.

It made no sense. I understand the war changed people but still the storyline fell flat and had nowhere to go so then the author just

shoves her back with Jamie in the end?

 Every character who died apparently comes back in the end but it really didn’t add anything to the story.

Personally, I wish they would’ve focused more on the women both during and after the war.

The Women is by far the best book I've ever read. The way Kristin Hannah writes makes you feel like you are in Vietnam with these women. Some books change you and this is one of them. I don't think I've ever felt as much emotion when reading a book as I felt with this one. I would recommend this book to everyone. It's a must read!

What a rollercoaster of emotions! So amazing and so frustrating!! As a nurse, this speaks to me, especially the traumas of every day that other people just can’t understand. I can’t imagine doing that in a combat setting. Although this did have a happy ending, it took a lot to get to it. What a testament to female friendships. So good.
