Incredible book. Powerful story and excellent writing. I felt everything with the main character and I cried both with and for her. A very heavy read but very much worth it.

This is a compelling account of the experiences of women who served as nurses in Vietnam during the war and of the impact of that on their lives when they returned to "the world". Unfortunately,  the telling is overwrought and overblown.

5 🌟 Wow. Get the tissues ready. All these topics, stories and concepts are not uncommon. What is uncommon is how it was constructed and humanity in the story. 
Although it is classified as “fiction” these stories are based on real humans, real locations and political events of the 60s & 70s in the US and Vietnam. 

Some topics are sensitive of course as is warfare along with substance usage/substance abuse. Miscarriages. The medical complications with chemical exposure. Racism. Segregation. PTSD. Misogyny. Political war crimes. 

Really looking forward to reading more from this author.
