Every time I get to the part with Zoe, I cry. I would die for every single one of the huntresses and Artemis. That's all I gotta say. Also, Percy's fatal flaw being his loyalty. Break my heart, why don't you Rick!

I still think this one is my favorite in the series for many reasons, but mainly for the emphasis on Percy's growth as a hero, specifically in the context of Greek mythology. Percy has never been like other heroes, but he still looked up to them - he thinks that he must be like Heracles or Perseus or whoever else in order to be a "good hero." This is the book where he decides that no, he's going to be better than them instead.

percy really comes in to what it means to be a hero and learns more about him and what he may need to do in the future

Another vacation book, except this was on my kindle so I could read on the airplane and in airports.

This might be the best yet. I finished this somewhere between Atlanta and Indianapolis and immediately went to book 4, which is 51% done. The writing is better and the characters feel more solid than the previous 2 books. The series got a thumbs up from the pre-teen sitting next to me on the plane when she saw what I was reading. So there's that :)

Percy and friends are on another quest, this time joining the Hunters and trying to find Annabeth. We meet new gods, including Atlas, and lose some people. More battles are coming. They only quieted the Big Bad in this one.
