This was a quick and enjoyable NA read. I loved the fact that both H/H were strong and was satisfied with the HEA. You will also want to read Off Limits which shows more of the characters in minor roles.

This is the story of Ryan the captain of Northwestern's hockey team and son of a senator and his fall for Danny (Daniella but don't ever call me that), the Julliard drop out who dies her hair different colors, has her nose and eyebrow pierced and is struggling to make ends meet.

Ryan and Danny both have an instant connection but are afraid of one another. Ryan is afraid that his world will hurt her and Danny is afraid that if she gives her heart to Ryan it will be crush. Once they get over their fears and dive in, it is an insta love story. It was short and sweet and cute. Ryan stands by Danny and won't let anyone stand in the way of their HEA or let them tear Danny down a notch. "I am choosing love." Swoon. This was my first book by Sawyer Bennett and it won't be my last. Even though this was a short book I really appreciated that nothing felt too rush and that everything felt resolved. Sometimes you see that things get rushed or brushed under the rug to wrap up a book but not with this one. I felt that everything was neatly cleaned up and explained to my liking. Really enjoyed this book and can't to read more Bennett books.

tbh i started this book because i craved a sweet hockey romance. and that’s exactly what it is, it’s super cute, adorable and sweet, but i must admit it’s way too short and the relationship is so messed up, the characters went from “hi” to “i love you” in the blink of an eye, istg they were already thinking of their deep feelings for one another when they knew each other for like 13 hours. so yeah, not really what i was waiting for (i had just reread some of the off campus series by elle kennnedy and i just wanted something a bit similar unfortunately it wasn’t).

This was actually quite good. I was surprised how much I liked the story. I love Danny, the female protagonist. Her background story was heart wrenching, but I have to admire at how she's coping with it. She's a fascinating character with many layers. Ryan, the love interest, is just too good to be true. The progression of their relationship seems a bit rushed, but there were touching moments that I'm embarrassed to admit made me shed a tear or two. Definitely a quick, feel-good read.

I found this book for free ages ago on Amazon so I obviously got it as it sounded like something I would very much enjoy and I wasn't wrong...

I like the top half of this cover as it's more interesting but the bottom half I felt just added those things as an after thought and even though it's in keeping with the book I (surprisingly) didn't like it. I love the use of colour as I am a sucker for black and white with one other colour as I think it looks so artistic and this is no different plus purple is used in the book so it fits with the story.

It has taken me well over a year to actually start this book and I do wish I had started it sooner as I loved it so much. The reason why I actually got around to reading it was after reading and loving one of Sawyer Bennett's other books and as soon as I picked it up I didn't want to put it down. The only thing I can think of that is wrong with this book is the length at only a 166 pages everything felt rushed and a few things that where a little on the unbelievable side. As soon as Danny and Ryan meet one another they instantly fall in lust and within a week they are madly in love and after two weeks there is also talk of marriage, usually I don't mind this instant love but I just felt like in this case it was too much too soon. Even though I was too sure on their quick feelings I still enjoyed them together as there was definitely chemistry and maybe if it was a longer book then maybe the love would have had a longer timeline to grow instead of instantly. It was a predictable book but I don't mind guessing what is going to happen next as long I don't guess everything as I do like a few things that take me by surprise which in this case it does. I loved the blend of music and sport but then again I do love my athletic men! I did like the ending as all the questions where all answered and after the 'The End' part it also said we will get more from Danny and Ryan so I'm pleased about that.

I loved Danny and Ryan and a few of their friends but there was a lot of other characters that where pure evil. Danny was a strong independent women who had a lot of bad things happen in her life but this just makes her stronger. She may seem like she doesn't care about what anyone says about but we soon find out that that wasn't the case. Ryan was just amazing he was so sweet and he was always there for Danny, I just loved everything about him and what I love about him the most is that he isn't the one that screws everything up. Paula and Mike were a great addition to the story as they was so funny I just wish we would've got to see more from the both of them. Ryan's sister wasn't in it that much but when we first met her I didn't like her but then we see her again and she seemed to be a bit nicer so I'm hoping that this change will be here to stay as it's her book next.

Overall a short but sweet book it just could've done with being a bit longer so there would be more depth to the story.

3.5 stars

Audiobook was good,short read.

I read this book out of order and it really doesn't matter, all the off series, whilst they link do stand alone. Sinking into one of Sawyer Bennett's book has comforting certainty that it will be a good read......and it was. This is the story of Ryan, the rich college jock with a controlling family. He first sees Danny (Daniella) waiting his table in a diner. She's not his normal type, with purple hair and piercings but he's taken by her intelligence, humour and confidence. It a rocky but enjoyable read.

I think I would have enjoyed this if I had read this about 2 or more years ago. It just wasn't enough for me. Not angsty enough. Not sports enough. Just not enough.

I actually really enjoyed this! It was a sweet story. Nothing wrong with a ‘love at first sight’ story to bring a smile to your face. I recommend this. It’s a nice quick read too!

Sweet, uncomplicated, heartwarming story :)
