I went in open-minded thinking OOO we are going to get a sports romance YES!
I feel sad, he might have been a sports guy but we didn’t get any actual hockey scenes. :(
I kind of felt like I have read this book before over and over again it was all very predictable. Not to say it wasn’t good it just wasn’t unique.
I guess I just wanted something more.
I enjoyed the narration!

Second listen and I liked it better this time until that last 1/3rd. Then it went down hill.
Lots of eye rolling, I felt like we had enough drama but nope author thought we needed more.
I don't know if people think New Adult means drama or what but that's how this one went down.
Looking forward to the next book I have high hopes!
I still really like the narration.

Where to start .... well first off I give this book 2-2.5 stars. It just didn't do anything for me. It was less than 200 pages and still took me more than a day to get through because it just didn't hold my attention.
There was no build up in the relationship between Ryan and Danny. They have 1 date and then he doesn't talk to her for several days. She mopes around like she's been with him for months and not just a few hours. He comes and begs forgiveness and she doesn't hesitate in giving it. (I can understand this part because there shouldn't have been hurt feelings after only one date and it shouldn't have been a big deal.)
From there it goes from strangers to "in love for life" in a matter of what seems like seconds. "It's the right time Ryan. I want you to be my first ... my only." Um seriously?! You are a 21 year old virgin and you are giving it up after a few days and saying this is the one and only guy for you ... You've never been in a relationship, never been in love, never had any experiences with it whatsoever yet you KNOW in only a day that this is the man for you. There are some writers that could make me believe that but not in such a short book with so little background.
Then there is the scene where his mother berates and belittles Danny to her face and then his ex comes in and tries the same thing. After it happens, Ryan does defend her and kick his mother and ex out BUT this is the kicker "I need to f*** you, Danny ... please ... let me ..." Um really?!?! She was just insulted and berated to her face by complete strangers and your first response is "I need to f*** you"!!!
Then after all the "my one and my only" and "I'm in love with you" talk Danny makes the comment "Ryan we've known each other like two seconds..." when he brings up MARRIAGE... Seriously a week into the "relationship" and he is talking marriage. Just not plausible for one and also Danny decides to go back on her originally statement of "I want you to be my one and my only" to pointing out that they've been together so little it is too soon to talk about things like that. Just contradicting to me.
Lastly, this was supposed to have a hockey element to it. I will admit that Ryan is a hockey player and that may be considered a hockey element but that is about as far is that goes. They hardly discuss Ryan and his hopeful hockey career. She goes to one game. He mentions practice ONCE. That just shouldn't have been a part of the description when it plays such a minuscule part in the book as a whole.
The book is free so I guess I can't complain too much. Other than the fact that Raid came out and I haven't read it because I can't stop reading a book until it is finished no matter how much I hate it. So as I said, a 2 star read for me. It just wasn't up to my expectations even as a free book.

What I didn't like
♦ Angeline or whatever her name was - At first, I thought she's a bitch. At the end, I found out that she's a massive bitch
♦ Ryan's mom
♦ Reece - I knew he's an asshole, but Yeah, that was so not cool.
♦ The writing style - Honestly, it was kind of boring and it took me a lot more to finish the book than it should
♦ Ryan and Danny - I didn't really feel their love. They fell for each other in less than a week and it also gave me YA vibes. Not that YA is a bad thing, but this is supposed to be a NA and they were so... innocent, I don't know
What I liked
☺ Mike - Good friend to have, to be honest
☺ Emily - She intrigued me. I thought she's a total bitch like her mother, but maybe that's not really the case
☺ How Ryan gave up on his mother to keep Danny - Not many guys have the balls to do it
Overall, it was a light read. I liked it, but I didn't love it and I hope this is not the best book [a:Sawyer Bennett|6950682|Sawyer Bennett|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1405426334p2/6950682.jpg] can write. So I'll just give the others a chance, knowing that they have better scores than this one.

Ten days. Literally Ten days. Nope nope nope. I was hoping for a more fulfilling book but come on. This is a little ridiculous. UGH.
I found this to be way too formulaic, predictable, sappy and a bit trite. The other series I read by this author was MUCH better. These characters didn't have much depth.
3.5 stars. This one was nice, easy and sweet. A nice HEA to make for a happy day.
Three point five stars. I liked this book. I wanted to like it more. It was very cute, bordering on cheesy, but everyone needs a cute, sweet read like this every now and again. Worth the money? Yes. Would I read it again? Probably, if I was camping in the bowels of Yosemite and there was no 4G/wireless for me to download more books. Recommended? Yes, it's cute and made me smile. :)
