This is another book I read because of Nick. I really need to create a Goodreads shelf for these books. There are a lot of them. She's been reading this series and getting all excited about them so I figured I'd give the first one a chance (I mean, it was 99p and only about an hours worth of reading).
So what did I think?
It wasn't as terrible as the title makes it seem. I mean, Daddy's Best Friend? If that doesn't scream porn I don't know what does. And yes, this book is erotica, all about the steamy sex and the forbidden romance and less of a substantial storyline. But it's also a novella so I wasn't expecting an in-depth romance with lots of character development, was I? I mean, you get what you came for and it is pretty fun.
Nathan was a gruff cop and Eve's dad's best friend. He was hot (I have a thing for guys with tattoos) and he tried to do the right thing but he totally gave in. And Eve was sweet and naive and determined to get what she wants. It's as simple as that. If this had been a longer book I would have found Nathan's whole 'you're mine' thing tiresome and Eve's sweet innocence would have grated so there are good things to be said about a good novella.
Now, I'm not finding it rave worthy yet I am interested enough to blast through the next two books because they are the quickest of quick reads and this was fun. I mean, I will forget the characters in a couple of hours but I had fun while it lasted.

I secretly love May to December romances... well, I guess it isn't a secret anymore LOL! I love that there are these two characters that no one would ever think to pair together, but for whatever reason they just seem to click and for the most part not just on a physical level.
London Hale takes the May to December romance and adds an extra hiccup to it...
Eve has been attracted to her father's best friend for longer than she can remember. She's tried dating other boys her age but nothing can compare to Nathan... it's obvious he cares about her, but she's eighteen now, and ready to see just how much.
Nathan has avoided the temptation that is Eve for the last year, but he can't seem to get her out of his mind, which is crazy because she is her best friend's daughter. The man who believes in him and trusts him as part of his family. But Eve sure isn't making it easy for him to resist.
I have a few questions for you ... do you like erotic romance? Do you like sexy heroes? Do you like determined heroines? Do you like stories that are amazingly hot?
If you answered yes to any of those then you will need to read this series of Novellas asap! The first arrives on May 2nd and is a quick and steamy read that you won't be able to put down.
Yes, the subject may seem a bit taboo, and I was a little leery at first, but once I started reading I realized that was all for nothing. This writing duo have created a story that is both dirty and sexy and all the things you want in erotic romance, but they also filled it with characters that are likable and despite the age gap between the two and the bumps that are the dynamics of their relationship you'll be begging for more.
I know I am... and I can't wait for the second novella because I kind of loved her best friend Gen and I need more dirty stuff to read!
Grab this one if you're not afraid of a subject that's a little bit taboo and you want some hot, dirty romance to immerse yourself in!
Thank you to the authors for an early copy in exchange for my honest thoughts!

3.5 stars? Mostly because of it ending at 66% and the rest being teasers for other books. But what else should I expect from a kindle freebie? *shrugs* Although, the story itself ended just where it had to and didn't lack anything.
Anyway, May/December is one of my favourite tropes, but is so hard to find a well-written one that is neither creepy nor awkward. This book, however, checked all the points and was a good hot quick little read!

Short, but sweet
Was a fast read. Really enjoyed. Really wished it was a bit longer, but it worked. The characters were very likeable as well.

I liked this short story. It was a fast read and enjoyable. But there IS still a *little bit* of an ick factor for me. I went into it knowing this relationship had a big age difference between the two characters, so I'm not going to criticize it because of that. I gave it a try because Brighton Walsh is one-half of the writing duo, and I love her books, and I will read anything she writes. But I don't think this one was for me exactly. I'm definitely interested in the rest of the novellas, though! At least those beyond the next (since The DILF has the same trope). I'm curious what other stories these two authors have up their sleeves.
