Another toxic, possessive caveman we're supposed to find attractive? Yawn.

This book was predictable, repetitive and entirely too long.

What a wild ride!!!
Lyla is such a strong FMC! She deserves the best and she went through the worst. I love her DOWN.

Lachlan is so obsessed with Lyla! Like he’s one MMC that i truly believe would lay his life on the line for her. He did so much for her, so much to earn her back, so much to deserve her.

I loved Lyla and Lachlan together. Again, I love how obsessed/possessive and jealous BOTH of them were for each other. Like on the edge of unhinged.

it was just perfect for me. I couldn’t put the book down. They were perfect together, I loved seeing them falling in love.

I think the main tropes are college romance, hockey, second chance, he falls first and boy obsessed

Read the TW before, and you can just skip the chapter 44. You’ll understand the book without reading every detail of this scene

Our main characters are Lachlan James Duke & Lyla James Marichal. Yes, the same middle name 🥺

Part One of Until I Get You takes place in their last semester of their respective senior years in college. Lachlan is a star hockey player, known for women falling at his feet, and never really having to try too hard, if at all, to get the girl. Until he meets Lyla one night at a party he doesn't even want to be at, and she shares the same sentiment. Lachlan is immediately drawn to Lyla, unexplainably so, and begins to chase a girl for the first time in his life.

That is until one of his teammates (who is also one of Lylas best friends) lets him know that theres more to her than meets the eye when he can't help but ask questions & want to know more about her after their first encounter. You can definitely feel the spark between them, it jumps off the pages (much to both of their attempts to deny it).

Lachlan is so incredibly caring towards Lyla in all ways, and definitely when it comes to the spice in this book. I would rate it a 3/5 🌶️, it's more about the connection they share than the overall dirtiness yanno?

The book is separated into two parts: the first centered around their last few months in college, before shit hits the fan and Lylas past comes back to haunt her,
and ruin what she has with Lachlan before it can even really get off the ground.

Part two of Until I Get You takes place
three years later.

I definitely did not see
the time jump
coming, that's for sure. But this is another book where you can't really go in depth with detail in a review without spoiling the whole thing. I will say I definitely enjoyed Part One of the book more than Part Two, hence my rating. I found the second half a little taxing to get through but overall I'm glad I read the book!

Additionally, PLEASE CHECK YOUR TRIGGERS before reading this, as there is incredibly dark content that could really affect sensitive readers. I'll list content warnings as always below, but just exercise caution.

Lachlan Duke is a little nuts, but I loved him!

I was hooked on Until I Get You from the very beginning. From Lyla James’ indifference to Lachlan falling fast and hard.
This had some heartbreaking moments when Lyla talks about her past, and some heart pounding moments when we get into part two of the book.

Until I Get You has some darker themes and I would recommend checking content warnings before diving in!
