J. R. Ward did it again!
She took a story about angels and demons, light and darkness, the battle between the good and the bad and put it in the modern setting. The story has a lot of cursing and steamy scenes (one of the reasons I like her books).
Like probably many, including Jim Heron, I was completely fooled by the plot, and who needs saving this time. Nevertheless, it has been interesting getting to know Isaac Rothe and his budding romance with Grier Childe.
I have to give it a 3/5 stars. Some of my favourite books (including Black Dagger Brotherhood series) will get a really high rating. No matter how much I loved the books - and I would recommend this series to anyone looking for a good steamy paranormal read - I feel that if I give a higher rating, it would not mean much compare to the books that are 5 star reads.

Another great installment from the WARDen!! Have to say I don't love this series as much as BDB but I do enjoy it alot, I like her good vs evil, angels vs demons! I wish it had a little more Umph like BDB does, but all in all I enjoy the series! Looking forward to the next battle between Jim, Eddie, Ad and the EVIL EVIL Devina!!!
I always enjoy JR Ward, and I've read everything she's written (under that name, not her Jessica Bird stuff). I think this book in particular is better than the first one in the Fallen Angel series. Having read so much of her writing, I'd like to say a few things about themes and techniques I've noticed in her writing
-First and foremost, please get over your phobia of question marks. I'm pretty sure there was one in this book. I consider that a start. At first, I thought it was a way to make questions sound tough and unemotional coming from these warrior-male characters. Then all the characters started talking that way, all the time. If she had Oliver Twist in her book, even he would say (tough and unemotional), "Please sir, may I have some more."
Question Marks. Use them.
-My other comments are more positive, because I truly do think Ms. Ward is terribly talented, both naturally and technically. One of the techniques I've noticed from a psychological perspective is that she tends to use just parts of common sayings, which draws you into her writing and engages you in a more active role in the reading than you would normally take to fiction. I think this is deliberate, and possibly brilliant. Her colloquial style in general gives her writing a lot of personality and though it is too gritty to be to my taste, somehow I always enjoy it anyway.
-Across the board, Ward appears to have a unique way of portraying love. On the side of the male character, it always crosses over into more than just an emotion, but more of a visceral, unbreakable vow. A force of nature that is very nearly worshipful instead of just loving. This makes for a fantastic read, though I suspect in a 30 year marriage it wouldn't last long in just that form. Still, great fiction.

**Mild Spoiler** LOVE LOVE LOVED this one way better than the first one and that was good!!! Loved Isaac he is just yummy! i want a little side story of him and Grier and little baby Daniel that would be awesome!!
I'm seriously addicted to this amazing series!I sincerely was not excepting to love a series about fallen angels.
Pros:
-The amazing and different kind of story on this book(seven sins,A fight between Angels and Demons,one man can decide everything);
- Devina Avale(i know it's awful to say but Devina is one of my favorite characters);
-Isaac Rothe and Grier Childe's relationship;
-Shows that tough guys can be fragile sometimes.
-The scenes with Devina and Jim ( i know she torture him but she truly "cares" for him in her odd demon way).
Cons:
-The good guys losing this second battle,You know i love Devina but I will always hope that Jim Heron and the angels come on top.

I am so in love with this series! Crave was delicious and left me craving for more.
Jim and his team are back and battling the demon, Devina, for the soul of one of Jim's old XOps buddy, Issac. The battle between heaven and hell heats up and although Jim has the capabilities to go in either direction, he is definitely a Heaven guy!
Issac is a big bruiser who is known for his quick, efficient kills, but he started questioning what he was doing, got a conscience and went AWOL. Now there is a price on his head and the leader of the XOps team is coming for him.
It's Jim's job to save him, even if it means giving himself over to Devina's cruel hands. That was awful, btw. Made my skin crawl.
I absolutely enjoyed every moment of this book. I was enthralled by the characters and in the story. I cannot wait to start the next book. Thank you Ms. Ward! 😊

3.5*
This would have been a 3* read if it hadn't been for the last three chapters. As much as I dig the overarching SL between Jim and Devina, the fact a demon has OCD is too weird, but the relationship between Isaac and Grier feels a little...not forced exactly, but there was something missing.

This book was just as good as the 1st in the series if not better. This time we don't get all the back story about the "battle/game" and how it started. Instead we get to focus more on the players. We learn more about Ad & Eddie, which I love.
