Alien wolf shifters! An injured human scientist lands on an alien planet and meets gruff emperor alien. He's honourable and protective, she's super smart and a bit quirky. Very insta-connection, but their chemistry worked fine, and the romance is decent. I appreciated there was no dancing around in circles and they're straightforward about feelings. I liked her brilliance, so her self depreciation gets annoying at times, and also there's bit too much growling and waxing on the size difference. The action part is fun, but the writing seemed sloppy and wasn't her usual standards, really felt like a rushed job.

Poppy & Brodin’s story is amazing!! I just loved this so much. Brodin’s alpha energy was so hot and I loved how protective he was of Poppy. So cute!

3.5⭐️ This is exactly what I hoped it would be! A quick, fun, escapist, easy SF romance read!
If you are a SF purist this isn’t for you—the world building is fun and interesting enough but very light on, these alien planets aren’t too dissimilar from earth in a social interaction sense (which actually just makes it easy to read so can be seen as a positive if this is the kind of read you are looking for!). For example, the language barrier is overcome via a tech implant (great, world building tick!) but the people of this alien society use familiar modern idioms in their speech such as “so I see you have a sweet tooth!” which can take you out of the story a little if you are an experienced SF reader and expecting more.
But if you are like me and enjoy a good palette cleanser read that isn’t too taxing and can ignore all that and just enjoy this for what it is—a fun romp—then I’d recommend this series!

It's... okay. I don't know why this series isn't working for me like others from this author. Maybe because I've read more. This one was fantasy pretending to be sci-fi, wolf shifters "in space." The sex scenes are blah.

Ugh, the characterization was so shallow. Instalove with no justification. Every conflict is easily solved. It’s a shame, as the world is Interesting but the writing is not good.
