So much excitement to be had, it's addictive!! Not as much adventure or combat as the first book, but more intense in its discoveries and emotions.
Major truths are revealed and the war takes a new turn, pushing the patience and tolerance of the Light Fae.
How much more can the Light endure before they are forced into a confrontation with the Dark Fae? A deadly Confrontation.
Can't wait to find out how the series progresses in book 3.

This is book 2 and on to book 3. This series is GOOD!

My Kindle highlights/Notes:

“Céline and I have discussed Jayne’s abilities and performance during the test, and we believe it is possible that Jayne is ... an elemental.” - Note: Coolest fae ever

Man, I had to get one of those horns. I wondered if Netter could find one. What would I call it? The ‘shut the fuck up’ horn? That seemed to fit. - Note: I love this chick

A nice idea and decent execution of it. I did find it a bit choppy and felt that the first two books could have easily been combined into a part 1 of a larger novel. Feels like the author is trying to extend the concept of a few books into a much longer series. As for the novel itself, everytime there is any character development, the main character resorts to her default potty mouth persona. Her past, admittedly painful experiences seemed to be shelved for now. Personally I will stop reading the series, since based on the spoilers I would be paying close to 40 USD for content that can be easily combined into one or two decently sized books

This has been on my TBR since June 2014 sitting pretty at number 6 for that long. After finally reading this, I got to say I'm not disappointed or really glad.

I enjoy Fae books, from my review way back when of the first book I was pretty positive about it and thats the same for this book. Is it the best fae book? No but I did enjoy it. At some points the language got to me first with the swearing, it got a bit much and secondly with sometimes it just seemed too young. I would have pegged this book as almost tween with how the writing seems aimed at. The swearing seems to be to over it maybe?

I do like Jayne, although at some points her anger was annoying the crap out of me. I appreciate she is pretty kick ass for a YA female lead role. Just she swears too much and her anger is a little unneeded in some cases... I would like to read the next book!

The first thing I have to say about this series, and Elle Casey in general, is that it--and she--is one of my favorites simply because of how hilarious it is. Seriously, Jayne in my kind of girl. I can see the two of us hanging out. She is such a smart mouth, and she can cook up quite a sarcasm soup in any situation, no matter who she's talking to. She is one sassy girl.

The overall plot of the series is starting to take form in this book, which I'm excited for. In The Changelings, the scene was still being set, and when the book ended, more questions were posed than were answered. Now that Jayne and co. are actually living with the fae, they're learning the secrets of the trade, even if not everyone is completely truthful or particularly forthcoming with them. Jayne learns some things about her particular brand of faerie, such as exactly what she can do and what elements she has an affinity for. Some other things are mentioned about another fae that's similar to Jayne, only the inverse of her powers, which I know will become a massive plot point in the future.

I like how the other characters grew in this book. Chase--oh I love Chase! I admit to having a crush on him, and I sincerely hope that Jayne gets some Chase loving because he's just so perfect and cute. Love him! There's also a new addition to the group: Tim the Pixie! OHMYGOD, I absolutely adored Tim! He was just as hilarious and spunky as Jayne, BUT IN A TWO-INCH TALL GREEN PACKAGE. How adorable is that?

I do have to say that I'm not particularly a fan of how Elle Casey chose to end this book. As with the first one, she ended it right in the middle of a crucial scene, but it doesn't come off as a cliffhanger this time. These books actually continue on exactly where the previous one left off (I've read the beginning of the 3rd book, so the continuity is the same) and I'd much rather that Elle simply closed of the action for each book and then started up fresh in the next. That would, firstly, give us readers some closure upon finishing, and secondly, give us, and the characters, some time for a break.

So many possible love interests... Is there still a chance Jayne could ultimately fall in love with Tony? Suddenly I'm interested in whether or not Chase being her daemon has something to do with being "mates" or not. Will anything blossom between Jayne and Spike? But, wait a second, what if this elemental guy, Ben, is another potential bae, even if he fights for the dark side?! Ooh, so many choices!
