A valuable read for being so timeless. In a society where too many opinions and ease of communication lead to everyone whining and being discontent, what "better" way of eliminating the issue can a seemingly totalitarian leadership come up with than the obliteration of written records in order to eliminate thinking? Drugs, mass media, and mindless consumption of adrenaline are enough to keep the masses complacent. Who could have stopped this from happening? Intellectuals take a part of the blame on themselves as they believe that they were too cowardly to resist. Firemen, the delivering agents of the flaming doom, often perform their jobs unquestionably. Therefore it is the ignorance of all people who has allowed such extremism to take place. The same people who still possess the power and the means to rebuild the society from its ashes after it's burned to the ground.

A worldwind of thoughts and emotions. It makes you question the world, media, people, and knowledge itself. It's crazy how much peo0le could read this book abd still not see it. I fear what society will become.
