This story was emotional and this book was a nice change from every other book I’ve ever read. Issa did an amazing job and understood the assignment! I’m obsessed with this book.

*SCREAMING, CRYING, THROWING UP*

I am strong.
I am worthy.
I am beautiful.
I deserve love.
I am NOT broken.

I have never had such a visceral reaction to a book before. I was completely wrapped up in Alex and Kohen and the literal roller coaster that they are. her broken doll past hit me in places I wasn’t ready for.

simply, this book chewed me up and spit me out. I am an emotional wreck.

and why is this DOING. IT. for me:
“You’re mine now, Alex. Do you hear me?”
“I hear you, but you have to show me because I don't listen well.”
“Fucking brat, get up.”

MY GOD.

anyways my husband really likes that I loved this book if you need a spice indicator okay byeeeee

OMG! This is an exciting story where I fell in love with Kohen and can totally relate to some of the things Alex struggles within her life. Kohen is fighting for his life as an Olympic gymnast and going to college. You learn that Kohen has lost his mother and has some trust issues because an ex cheated on him. I would really like to hear more about Kohen and his mother's relationship. Kohen's relationship with his father is strained at best. He is known on campus because of his wealth and family status.
Alex is struggling with her voices in her head that are from her upbringing with her mother. I would like to hear more about Cora and Alex's relationship growing up. They have been through a lot together; they hint at them losing a person in their tripod best friend group. I can tell you I hate X and Erika and Edward. I love Alex's best friend, Cora, from her young childhood. This is a great insta-love story where they fight it for as long as they can. I can't wait to see what happens in the second book. This book does end on a sort of cliffhanger where I hate Kohen's dad and some of Alex's toxic traits to sabotage anything good happening in her life.

I received this book as an ARC and leave this review willingly.

Issa.. I can’t even put into words how I’m feeling after finishing this book. What an amazingly well written rollercoaster that left me with absolutely No words!

I truly do not believe I will ever love book characters more then I love Alex and Kohen.

Issa was able to write Alex in such a relatable way that I had to stop and ask myself “how are my personal demons in this book?” Alex is force to be reckoned with, she’s gone through a lot and has a really hard time trusting anyone.

Kohen is the perfect book boyfriend and I instantly fell for him! He is stubborn and loyal and that man knows Alex’s worth and wants to break down the walls she’s has built.

The ending… the ending GUTTED me and I’m still not okay. I cannot wait for book 2!

Issa, I’m so freaking happy and proud of you!!! What a great book to start you off as what I’m sure will be an AMAZING writing career! Thank you for making a book so relatable and thank you for the plus size FMC representation! ❤️❤️ Now ummm about book two?

I loved this book!! I loved all the little millennial references like johnnny bravo! It is dirty but also makes you feel those feels. Like fuck I don’t wanna be this excited about a guy but at the same time fuck it I’m gonna enjoy it. I also love me some trauma. I can’t wait to see what the author comes up with for the next book!! It’s hard to believe she isn’t a famous author yet- I’m excited to follow her to the best sellers list! Just read it already!!!

Heartbreaking

Little Broken Pieces was a rollercoaster of emotions, and my heart was hurting for Kohen at the end. In the beginning, I absolutely disliked Kohen with how he was acting towards Alex, but he grew on me as I kept reading. Alex is such a toxic person, and I understand she has been through so much, but holy crap she is toxic beyond comprehension. I hope Alex is able to overcome her self-sabotaging in book 2, and she is able to get her HEA with Kohen in book 2. Issa Marie did such an amazing job for this being her first full-length novel. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us readers.

Dnf. Couldn't get past the third chapter. Felt way too "I'm not like other girls, I'm a cool girl. Oh I'm so crazy!" CRINGE.

This is definitely a drama filled read!! It was so good though!! And I am still wondering about Cora!! I need to know what happens next!! I need to know Issa!!!
I can definitely relate to Alex. I feel like we kind of went through the same types of trauma in our lives and can completely understand where she's coming from!

This one was tough to get through, unfortunately. I think it has good bones, but isn't fully developed in several ways.

The timeline/story needs more refinement - for example, the FMC is in college, something we were made aware of early on, but her major wasn't revealed until 2/3 of the way into the book. The writing itself needs more development, there was a lot of redundancy in terms/phrases/words, typos and grammatical errors throughout, to the point of distraction. Also, the dialogue between characters didn't feel natural, it felt very scripted and awkward. And what was with all of the laughing? Everyone was laughing all the time and it was weird. Kohen was obsessive about her wearing a seatbelt, but why? It felt like a weird thing to call out repeatedly and there was no explanation. Also, it's mentioned several times that Kohen lost his mother, but we never find out how. Just too many weird loose ends happening.

I liked the FMC and how strong and confident her journey was, but it was a little over the top with mention of her "thick thighs" and almost like it was trying too hard.

Again, I think there is something here, I just needs more work.

Bad writing. Also we were being told what she feels but not live it so it feels shallow superficial and just mediocre
